Membership Step 1 —
Starting Your Business' Journey

The process of admitting a business to membership is fair, transparent, and applied to all new applications. It is set out below:

Stage 1

Application received and checked for completeness

Once you have submitted your business' application form it is checked to ensure that it is complete and that all mandatory fields have been completed. If you have inadvertently applied for the wrong category of membership or forgot to include all details don't panic, the team in the ADIA National Office will help you through the process.

Stage 2

Business details confirmed

This stage verifies the credentials of the applicant as is required by law - don't worry, this process sounds worse than it is. ADIA is simply checking things like your business' ABN, trading address, Director's name, business' legal structure and (where required) details of TGA's Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods entries. This is all publicly available information and checked against details held by ASIC and TGA registers.

Stage 3

ADIA Board considers application

The application is considered by the ADIA Board with a decision made in the context of the ADIA Constitution and bylaws. If it meets the eligibility criteria and have accepted the conditions of membership, the application will be approved.

Stage 4

Fees paid

The applicant receives an invoice for the membership fees (if joining part-way through the year these are calculated on a pro-rata basis), and once paid the membership application process is complete.

Stage 5

Getting involved in the dental industry

This is the best part about becoming a new member. You'll be invited along to the next ADIA State Branch briefing to collect your membership certificate and welcomed as part of a community who share similar ideals and goals to your own. It's at this time that you can also nominate staff to be part of ADIA National Committees and ADIA Special Interest Groups.

The application process is clearly set out in the ADIA Constitution and bylaws and has been developed in the context of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and other statutory obligations under which ADIA operates.
